The first formal meeting of the ViBGYOR Organizing committee was convened in Pananchery on March 31 at 10am. The meeting of the General Organizing Committee was held in Trichur town (Chetana Media Hall) at 5pm. Mr. Rajaji Mathew Thomas MLA is the Chair Person of the Organizing Committee. K.P. Sasi, the renowned filmmaker and activist is the Festival Director.

On Saturday, March 17, 2007, some sixty women congregated at the Community hall again, took video cameras in hand, `called the shots and took the shots’. This was part of the One day Camera familiarization workshop for women organized by the Stree Jagruta Samiti and the ViBGYOR team.

The ViBGYOR Festival committee organized a Half-Day Documentary festival on November 25, 2006 in the Community Hall, Pattikad. A bunch of short documentaries focusing on women’s issues were screened. About 45 women participated in the screening and discussions. This was the first curtain raiser to ViBGYOR-07.
